历史上，多抓鱼一共收到了超过154万本盗版书，是天津仓库图书储存量的3倍。盗版是多抓鱼最主要的拒绝原因。每年中，多抓鱼收到盗版最多的月份是7月，高校毕业季，许多大学生把图书寄往多抓鱼售卖。再冷门的正版书都有盗版书，越畅销的正版书，盗版书越多。多抓鱼收到的盗版书top10是《白夜行》《解忧杂货铺》《三体III》《百年孤独》《三体》《三体II》《查理九世7：青铜棺的葬礼》《活着》《撒哈拉沙漠》《追风筝的人》。他们收到过近7000本盗版《白夜行》。
盗版书只与版权授权有关。多抓鱼掌握的正版图书特征，覆盖市面上90%头部盗版书。每本书的保存状态都不同，因而制定相对通用的品相分级规划并不容易。目前，多抓鱼有10种中品分级和10种情况的拒绝品，对于良品品相也有详尽的定义。那些刚收到时品相不佳，但通过翻新工作能使其“旧貌换新颜”的书，也会按照最终修复后的品相来定级。
但无奈，仍有大量图书确实不再适合二次销售，不得不拒绝。迄今的图书中，超过一百万本书因品相问题被拒绝。多抓鱼为此支付了几百多万元的物流和审核成本。
